Name: David K. Wilson Age: 20 Sex: male (why most definitely) Hometown: Houlka, MS School: Houlka Attendance center Hello family, well lets see if I can try to explain to you how to get to Houlka. Our state capital is Jackson, which is like maybe 200 miles south of us. If my readings are right, we are 34n02 longitude and 84w01 latitude. All I can say is grab a map of the United States, find Mississippi, which is in the south, look in the northern region of Mississippi, find Chickasaw county, and we should be on the north border of that county. Our school has over 600 students, and our graduating class is like 25 or less. I am a senior this year thank God for that; I have been in school 3 years after I was supposed to get out, but it is cool. I have met some fun and very exciting people and have grown closer with them and my teachers. Our town is very small, but it is home and peaceful. I kind of like it here, and then I don't cause it is too small so we all go to the next town, Tupelo, which is bigger, and it has more things to do. Some of my likes are basketball, watching college football and basketball, drawing, looking at nice cars, installing car audio, working on cars, building model cars, and just hanging out with all my friends and making new friends. I am a very funny person and I love to have fun and talk about all types of stuff. I am a black male, but it is African American; I prefer to be call a white boy with a real dark tan. I love everyone of different races and colors and I hope to become best friends with either of you.

Name: Kristie Gardner Age: 17 Sex: female Hometown: Houlka I am Kristie Gardner, a seventeen-year old senior at Houlka Attendance Center. I am also a black female who lives in Houlka, Mississippi. Houlka is a small town about three hours from Jackson, Ms., which is Mississippi's state capital. I have basically lived in Houlka my whole life. Like I said, Houlka is very small and consists of about one thousand people. The school's population is approximately six hundred and fifty students, which is K4-12th grade (small, huh?). I am pretty much satisfied with my school because I think it is unique, small but unique. I am also involved in a couple of clubs at Houlka Attendance Center. I am currently involved in BETA and FBLA. BETA is a scholastic, organization or club for students with high academic grades. I am also the president of my senior class. I attend vo-tech, which is a vocational center at Houston High School. Houston is about five or ten minutes away from Houlka. I am enrolled in Business and Computer Technology classes at Houston High School. I joined FBLA while attending the school; it symbolizes future business leaders of America. Later in the year for BETA, we will travel to Biloxi, Mississippi, which is in southern Mississippi. I don't know where we will travel to for FBLA. I do know that we will attend a meeting for the club, though. For fun, I like to hang out with my friends, talk on the phone, and sometimes spend time alone. I believe that I am a very down-to-earth, easy- going person who likes to make friends. I am also very easy to get along with. I don't like people who think starting trouble is entertaining. Other than that, I give others respect, and I believe that I deserve respect in return. I am just a person who loves to laugh and have fun.

Hello! My name is Rebecca Buchanan and I am 17 years old. I am from a small town called Houlka. That is in the United States in the state of Mississippi. It is near Memphis, TN. There are approximately 1,000 people in this town and approximately 600 students in the school. What I do for fun is talk on the phone and ride with friends. I really don't have many hobbies besides styling hair. I am in the BETA Club, which is a scholastic organization for people with high academic grades. I am also in the FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America). I love to talk and listen to people about things. I am very kind and very easy to get along with. I don't look at color; I look at what is in the inside of a person. I don't have many interests besides what I mention earlier, but that doesn't mean that I am not willing to learn more. So that is all I have to say about me, and I really look forward to talking to and getting to know about each and everyone of you. also, do you want to exchange the
information between the students as we have been doing so far, or do you
want to set up accounts for the students to individually correspond with
one another. i think either would be fine with me. but consider that some
might need monitoring. we can talk it out and decide.
