You and Your School Life

Our Report on the student's school life

Although the university entrance examination in South Korea is reportedly more competitive than in Japan, is it true that the Korean students are always concerned for their academic records and  they are ready to sacrifice everything to overcome the harsh examination hell?  We decided to see if this kind of information was true or not.
According to our survey on the students' school life, the answer to the above question was "no."  It is certain that the percentage of students who answered, " grades are important" is higher than that of Japan.
In fact, at Namju High School, students who want to continue studying after school stay in a study hall until past 22:00 every day and teachers also remain there to support their students. However, 80% of the students at Namju answered, " school is not their major concern," and this percentage is much higher than that of Japan.  They seem to have different values from those we had expected and most of the Korean students think school is important but it is a part of their life.  We also have a similar view; many of the students at Nagano Nishi don't believe that school is everything for high school students.  We think the most important is that young people should experience various things to broaden their horizons before they get out into the world.
